CUTTING UP SOME FRESH PINEAPPLE...

So I had to cut up some fresh pineapple the other day. Since I've started doing this a few years ago, no one seems to want the can pineapple anymore. Now I've created a bunch of spoiled pineapple brats... Wait a minute, that doesn't sound right.  Well you get the picture.

It doesn't take long to do - just a lot of mess.  In the end it is worth it.  I did 2 that day.

Anyways, for those who care, this is how it was done...

First you want to twist off the top part of the pineapple, or you can just slice off the top right below the leaves (as shown above).  People twist them off if they want to reuse the top part to grow more pineapple. I'm not planning on planting and growing any pineapple... I just love twisting them off... I'm weird.

Then you want to cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple...

Then stand it upright and start cutting off strips around the pineapple...

Then when that's done, you want to remove all those 'eyelets', those dark circles...

Now begins the fun part - cutting it up.

First slice it down the middle to make 2 halves as shown....

Then cut those halves into halves again until you have 4 pieces...

Before you cut each piece into half one more time, you must first remove the hard part since it wasn't de-cored in the beginning...

Just stand each piece upright and slice off the hard part.... be careful!

After cutting off the hard part, cut those 4 pieces again in half until you end up with 8 pieces all together. Now you can start chopping your heart out.  Wait a minute, that didn't sound right.  Now you can start chopping 'til your heart's content. lol.

And voila!  There you have it!  Fresh, chopped up pineapple!  Enjoy!
